A Dark Walk In The Valley

Today as I took a walk through the valley of my mind...

It was a darker walk,

Where I could hear your voice and we could talk,

I stayed in the dark shadows for this memory in time,

Pouring my soul into your glass like wine...

To watch you from afar,

Is something that I like to do,

In my mind, I was meant for you,

But in your mind, I never knew...

You never let me in,

Giving you my heart was my only sin,

You dropped it on the ground,

Snuffing it out, even it's last beating sound...

With a smile and a laugh,

You left me in your wake,

How much of this pain,

Will my dying heart take...

I stay in the shadows of life now,

Never knowing how,

To pick me up again,

I need my heart back to begin...

To begin this life brand new,

To walk this path without you,

Is something I long to see,

A better life for me...

This was today as I took a walk through the Valley of my mind...
