Donald Trump

To President Donald J. Trump,
To the Leaders of the European Union,
To every government that claims to protect human dignity:
This message is not written out of fear, nor out of silence finally breaking.
It is written because racism and targeted violence continue to operate in the shadows, even in countries that call themselves democratic, just, and civilized.
There is no place for Nazism in Ukraine, in Europe, or anywhere that claims to defend human rights.
And let us be absolutely clear:
Nazism is not patriotism.
Nazism is the deliberate repetition of what the pre-1945 German regime did — humiliation, dehumanization, assaults justified by skin color, ethnicity, or origin.
When a person is insulted for their skin tone,
When a child is mocked as “less than human,”
When someone is beaten because they look different —
this is not an isolated act of cruelty.
It is a symptom of an ideology that once destroyed continents.
And if Europe wants to call itself a defender of civilization,
then Europe must confront this truth:
Violence committed in the name of superiority is extremism.
Discrimination disguised as “opinion” is still hatred.
Silence in the face of abuse is complicity.
I live in Moldova — a land often ignored, often underestimated, yet rich in dignity.
But no amount of kindness, work, or goodwill can protect a person if society allows hatred to be normalized.
When someone can freely degrade another person as “gypsy,” “thief,” or “less worthy,”
when they justify aggression by appearance alone,
they are not protecting their nation —
they are imitating the darkest chapters of European history.
President Trump,
European leaders,
you speak of security, democracy, and the defense of human rights.
Then defend them — not in speeches, but where it matters:
in the everyday lives of the people who face humiliation simply for existing.
No child deserves to grow up listening to slurs.
No person deserves to be assaulted for the color of their skin.
No society deserves to regress into the ideology that nearly destroyed the world.
If the West truly stands for freedom, then it must confront hatred with the same force it claims to confront tyranny.
Because the truth is simple:
A nation cannot call itself civilized
if it turns away from the suffering of the innocent.
