Dreaming of You

Written 2026-02-07
I write these lines in British words,
to say once more, sincerely true:
I learnt new phrases, turned new chords,
just for the chance to startle you.
I hoped to catch you by surprise,
with what my heart has always known—
that when I meet your quiet eyes,
I’m never quite myself alone.
Snowflakes gather, light and free,
we laugh and run through winter air,
we throw the cold playfully,
and leave our footprints everywhere.
I dream we spend the hours so—
no clocks, no fears, just simple days,
our smiles bright in falling snow,
our voices caught in silver haze.
I love you, Mikita—softly said,
not shouted, yet it still is true.
It matters to me, every thread
of time that gently leads to you.
And nothing here should stand between—
not roots, nor names, nor where we’re from.
Your story, mine, where they have been,
they meet and feel more close, more one.
So if you stay, stay as you choose,
walk by my side, unforced, sincere.
I dream of you—and in that muse,
I hope you’ll want to linger near.
