I found your old letter

while removing some clutters

I read it again

and felt a slight jab of pain

You said you were sorry

when we agreed we could no longer be

You’d even thanked me

for all I’d done

for what we’d had back then

even for a short time

It took me a while

to gather all I wish I’d said

back then,

before it was all too late:

I’m sorry too

Have I given up on you

a little way too soon?

You said I knew how to reach you

A part of me wanted to,

yet I paused like a statue

What should I do?

Is this a sign

we should try again

or should I accept this

as our past romance

forever frozen in time?
