to write you something happy

as I stare at a page so empty

I can write something trivial

mundane, daily activities

but what’s the difference

with my regular schedule?

There’s no artistic soul

Just me, on an autopilot

You may ask me

to write you a love story

Probably, yours is so much better

while mine’s like, whatever

I can write something true

but perhaps it’ll turn you blue

What can I do?

Do you want me to pretend and lie to you?

Perhaps you need to stop asking me

in the name of pretentious positivity

Why can’t you accept

that for now, I’ve no faith in it?

No more love poems, at least for today

Tomorrow?
