"THE FIRST DOWNPOUR IN MONTHS"

Written 2019-11-16

You may complain

about the rain

It’s hard to go home

without getting drenched

Nights are long

The city traffic’s a bitch

The city life as it is,

always crowded with ‘busy bees’

I don’t call it pain,

‘though I have to wait

or get myself soaked on the way.

Enjoy the pitter-patter.

It makes me feel better.

For too damn long,

it’s been dry

scorching hot, as if things will fry.

So don’t complain

about the rain.

No need to be a pain.

Stay home if you need to

Treat this weather in blues

For me, rain is all about joy

Angels fly down from the sky,

comforting those who silently pray:

“Rain, rain, don’t go away

Stay for more than a day

We need to quench our thirst

so does this parched earth.”
