THE HARVEY HOUSE CHIMES ON THE SANTA FE RAILROAD.

By Joseph Robert Wilson

“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight!”

Better hurry — do not be late.

Best of food is on the table,

Eat as much as you are able —

“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight!”

A welcome waits at every plate.

Shining silver, spotless linen,

Waitresses, all pretty women —

“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight!”

Ascending sweet from one to eight,

Descending just as sweet to one —

The chimes have stopp'd, the meal's begun.
