sincere and kind.

A picture-perfect romance,

a hope for the lonely.

What seemed a second chance,

turned out to be

more than meets the eye,

full of toxic lies.

Years gone by,

the phantom grew tired

of playing the role

of the lovely and faithful.

The mask was slowly melting, slipping off,

revealing the real thing.

No one had seen it,

until their loved ones were lost

engulfed in raging fire

by the wicked who conspired.

That was when all was realised.

All along, a phantom had been among us.
