THE SHE-BEAST?

So she has returned,

unannounced and uninvited,

an annoying plot twist

among a sequence of pieces.

I hate how she screams

every time the outside world gets overwhelming.

She sometimes cries hysterically

almost like an Irish banshee

which always drives me crazy.

I hate her and want her gone,

but she insists on staying,

just to turn my world upside down.

I keep telling her that she's not real,

but she laughs at me,

refusing to bail.

"I wake up in your head,"

she always says,

"every time you won't let me out,

when you choose to shut the hell up

and let them throw you their hissy fit!"

Maybe I'm way too considerate

because I know what she's capable of

the moment I open my mouth

and let her out.

I sometimes do

out of exhaustion instead of malice.

She always seems pleased

despite the amount of cuts and slices

she's made on numerous hearts.

Then she'll return inside my head,

a satisfied beast with a full belly,

while I have to clean up her mess

and just be ready for more losses

cut at my own expense.

I beg God to banish her

and let me have my peace.

Of course, God won't make it easy

especially since she's always been a part of me.

Damn, I hate having to be ready

for the same fight all over again ...
