YOU COULD BE ME

YOU COULD BE ME

Written 2019-08-13

Tomorrow, you could be me...

A couple months ago I was joyful at waking and running on a warm summer morning, travelling overseas.

Then I felt a lump.

My career stopped.  Each day I go to a doctor's appointment instead of work.

Trips are cancelled and I buy wigs.

Tomorrow, you could be me...

You and I are only different by a mutated cluster of cells.  No amount of green smoothies, prayer, or yoga will change this possible outcome.

I see you wanting to separate yourself from me when I am bald and you feel pity.  When I am tired and you are running - not that I wish this on you.

Just please keep in mind that you could be me next year.
