The Canary with Black Lungs
The Canary with Black Lungs
Caged Bird Brought in to Replace the Last One
…With My First Breath…
Divinely chosen I embraced my new throne of gold
Bespeak to me of bespoken ballads to warm your ears
Innate love and wisdom I freely pour out for you
Treat me heavenly and I will graciously guide your spirit for eternity
Harmonies of my ancestors run through my blood
Beautiful notes rang out towards celestial beings
Kinnara and Kinnari hear my songs
You longed for our melodies
All seeing eyes blinded by visions of mirage
Prophetic hindsight masked with silk and satin
Deceitful lies dripped from the serpent’s tongue down venule walls
Cherry red cruor turned to cracked obsidian
Soulless
Cold blue eyes stared back
Pillaged bloodlines splattered into an urban mosaic
Once pure creatures shackled to their vices
Piercing falsettos crescendo reluctantly to the floor
Tones fall silently upon deaf ears
A forewarning
Does the creator despise its creation?
Or fear the inevitable?
Swimming in circles
deep within pools of sadomasochism
Compulsion of revulsion of thyself
Averting my gaze in horror
I weep for us
Rose tinted lenses peeled back to reveal the smoke and mirrors
My disgust overcome with mourning
I longed for you
That which has been spoken
Our predestined end
The cuckoo broods within the nest of the brooding canary
Parasitic trifecta,
The prideful Father roosts over the son,
Paralysis of the soul,
Acedia taking root,
An insatiable appetite of envious thoughts
A once beautiful melody stripped to the carcass
With a strained bellow, the canary sang a song that was no longer its own
…With My Last Breath…
Divinely chosen I embraced my new cage of gold
Bespeak to me of bespoken ballads to warn your ears
Innate love and wisdom I freely pour out for you
Treat me dreadfully and I will graciously guide your spirit for eternity
