At night, I hold her
And whisper poetry into her ear
Like an incantation to
Calm her demons
Come morning, I ravage her body
Like an exorcism
To banish them while they sleep
She makes me growl so fiercely
It frightens hell to chills
Then the day is for sealing her
Wounds with kisses
As if they were promises
The devil made and I will break
