her eyes held
an entire universe
her soul glittered
with stars
those eyes were
enough to undo him
Before dawn, it was broken
crumbling
fragment by
falling fragment,
dropping from the sky like a murdered star.
These words sound better
when they flow in the ink
from my pen,
and permanently stain the page--
remembered.
I'm not quite sure what I would say if I saw you again.
I know things I could say, but I'm not certain I could be that angry.
Be that childish.
It is possible we would walk by each other on the street
not even acknowledging one another.
Just like we were strangers.
He had found
a way to
cast the darkness
She never intended to make waves
to create an upsurge
to forge a movement
Even when we are wayward particles
built of collected gas and dust
wafting through empty space--
even then, we will remember.
Most memories fade with time,
but what remains are the paths not taken,
